Tesla makes it easy to access your most-used settings right from the steering wheel. With a recent software update, drivers can now long-press the left scroll wheel to pull up a menu of customizable options in the bottom left corner of the touchscreen.
This menu allows you to quickly toggle through different controls with just the scroll wheel and your thumb – no need to take your eyes off the road! In order to customize your Tesla’s steering wheel buttons, here’s a breakdown of how it works:
- Long press the left scroll wheel for 2-3 seconds to bring up the menu
- Use the up/down buttons on the wheel to scroll through options
- Tilt wheel left to exit or go back
- Tilt wheel right to select
Now for the best part – the list of available settings is completely customizable. You can hand pick the exact shortcuts you want for a streamlined experience.
Just head to Controls > Display in the settings menu to edit and organize the list to your liking. The possibilities include:
